Advanced Scuba Training and High Adventure for Scouts and Venturing Crews
The Open Water Diver Course and Scuba Merit Badge is just the first step to tapping into an abundance of educational opportunities and underwater adventures. Not only are there the core Scuba courses listed below, but the Academy of Scuba offers over 40 different recreational specialties from Altitude Diving to Wreck Diving. Some other Scuba and Scouting related programs include First Aid Training, Swimming, Oceanography, Fund-Raising, and Conservation. Don't forget to speak with your Troop Liaison about what opportunities your troop can incorporate into your Scuba program.
Advanced Scuba Diver Program
The Academy of Scuba has several programs for older Scouts looking to tie Scuba diving with Scouting. A great incentive for Life and Eagle Scouts. The Advanced and Rescue programs are great for troops looking for older scouts to mentor younger Scouts through the Scuba Merit Badge. Check out our Advanced Scuba Diver program for your Scouts who already know how to dive!
Rescue Diver Program
Dive leadership begins with the Rescue Diver program. As a Scout, finding opportunity to reach out and mentor other people to learn new skills. Rescue Diver is a great way to learn the skills to accept that responsibility. Our Rescue Diver program is specific to assisting Dive instructors with safe Scout based Scuba programs. When you turn 18, becoming a dive professional may be a goal for you. The Academy of Scuba has several programs to help Scouts meet that goal. This includes a scholarship program specifically for Grand Canyon Council Scouts who work within the Scuba Merit Badge program.
